The building that now houses Churchtown Arts is believed to be part of the original settlement and dates back to the 15th century. Since 1927 it has been used as a grocers, although it once housed a milliner and blacksmith, in fact the barrelled ceiling that used to funnel out smoke is still in existence. Following years of neglect the building has been lovingly restored and renovated into this wonderful craft centre.
