We exist to help animals in need, primarily at our 30 acre site on the Lizard Peninsula. Many of our residents have very particular medical needs but nevertheless lead wonderful lives at the Sanctuary - our fundraising is aimed at ensuring we can continue to do this.
We provide care and protection for animals suffering as a result of cruelty, sickness or neglect, and work to prevent such suffering. Our primary focus is on horses and ponies, but where possible we also help other animals in need. For example, we care for three sheep who arrived alongside three ponies after their elderly owner was no longer able to look after them.
We own Bonaventure Farm where all the animals in our care are looked after and we operate a shop in Helston.
Approach using the A3083 heading towards Lizard Village; pass the turning to Mullion on the right and about a mile later there is a turning to the left for Ruan Minor; take this turning. Around a quarter mile later there is a crossroads, turn left, signposted to Bolenowe Animal Sanctuary.
