Garden with a unique calm atmosphere
Witness the recent transformation of a wild and overgrown site that is being restored to its roots as a garden nursery. Discover the colourful gems of this pint-sized paradise abundant with trees and shrubs. Covering just four and a half acres, this small site led a former life as a garden nursery before being left to grow wild within its rural cradle close to the Helford River estuary. Work started on clearing the garden in January 2000. Now being thoroughly restored to reflect its history, it is hoped that one day Potager will grow to develop in the same exotic glory as the neighbouring gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan. Located close to the village of Constantine, this is a family friendly garden where you can explore the wild beauty, hunt for tiny critters in the undergrowth and enjoy the smattering of colour throughout the different seasons. Although in its early stages of development, Potager promises to become another beauty on the garden trail, with potential for a fine fruit orchard amongst a spectacular array of foliage.
Potager cafe nestles amongst the plum trees of Potager garden in a converted greenhouse. The cafe serves delicious home made cakes, fab veggie breakfasts and wholesome lunches made to order. Using only the best local organic produce, Awen the chef creates an innovative and satisfying range of dishes including frittatas, soups, and tapas along with handmade breads and ice creams.
About five miles south-west of Falmouth.
