History of a town

Situated on the first floor of the town library, the museum houses a variety of fascinating displays which illustrate the history of this delightful fishing port. Founded in 1971 by an enthusiastic group of local residents headed by retired boat builder Bill Lindsey, and is maintained and staffed by volunteers.

You'll come face-to-face with Padstow's cavorting 'Obby 'Oss, which celebrates the coming of summer every May Day, and you'll admire the heroism of Padstow's lifeboat men who since the early 19th century have rescued shipwrecked sailors.
