War in Cornwall
The concept of the museum is, wherever possible, to feature items and displays that have a connection with Cornwall and the Cornish people. Located on part of a WW2 airfield the museum has 18 buildings with displays on the RAF, Army, Royal Navy and civilian activities. The entrance fee is modest and the displays cover the period from pre-WW1 to the present time.
The number of artefacts that can be seen is astounding, not just hundreds but many thousands and although the majority of items and dioramas relate to WW2, there are many others relating to the Falklands Conflict and WW1 including a narrow-gauge railway of the type used to supply the trenches.
We should inform you that next to us there is another, smaller, museum just outside our gates which can be confusing for visitors. To ensure that you find us, please drive though the blue double gates that are in front of you and then on to the car park inside.
RAF Davidstow moor opened on 1st October 1942 and closed at the end of 1945.
Just east of the A39 three miles north of Camelford.
