Home-made Cornish Dairy Ice Cream
Here at Callestick Farm, we take our own pure, wholesome milk, local cream and the finest fruits and confectionery. Then we add a touch of Callestick magic to create flavour upon flavour of dreamy, ice creamy indulgence.
Our farm is located in the heart of Cornwall, only minutes from the north coast where the air is clean and the grass is green. Our cows roam the pastures during the summer months and shelter inside when the weather is gloomy.
In the summer months, our car park is home to a collection of farm animals, some rare breeds, including various breeds of chickens and pigs, our shire horse and sometimes calves or heifers too.
We also have a viewing gallery so you can look down on Sebastian and his team in the ice cream factory making and packing the ice cream. These days, machines do a lot of the hard work for us, however all but the smallest tubs are still filled by hand and so this makes up the main of the work in the factory. We do not make ice cream around the clock unfortunately, it depends upon our stocks, the time of year and the day of the week as to whether Sebastian will be making ice cream when you visit, but chances are during the Summer there will be something to watch.
Our DVD runs in the viewing gallery throughout the day, to give you an insight into how the farm is run and how our ice cream is made.
Farmed by our family for since 1953, Callestick is the perfect balance of traditional values, experience and modern efficiency. We have been producing the finest Cornish ice cream since 1989, and our business has grown steadily due to a solid reputation for both quality and service. Our modern facilities, consisting of an 1800 square ft factory and 1500 cubic ft cold store, have the capability to produce over 5,000 litres of ice cream a day.
We also have a spacious tearoom and shop at the farm serving snacks, light lunches, cream teas, hot and cold drinks and, of course, the best ice cream you'll ever taste! The shop has a great stock of local foods and crafts to take away as presents or for yourself!
Five miles north-west of Truro, between the A30 and the A3075.
