Throw people off cliffs
Soar fifty yards across the flooded quarry at speeds that will get your heart pumping. There is nothing like it in the UK and it's suitable for all ages. Turn up and jump. The Zip at Adrenalin Quarry is the UK's Maddest zip wire. Twin parallel wires cross the flooded depths of the old quarry, sheer cliffs rise on either side.
You’re momentarily weightless, then accelerating through double gravity as you level out at the bottom.
Just when you think 'I am going to live' you head up and out over the cliff edge, 160 feet above the lake. At this point it just gets worse as you become weightless again and plunge backwards towards the cliff.
Some people want another go, but not many. The Giant Swing is suitable for all ages 5 - 96.
No-holds-barred wild swimming, climbing & tombstoning for ages 10+. Now with The Blob!
Coasteering at Adrenalin Quarry is unique. We’ve got The Blob. Your friend sits on the end of a 40 foot by 9 foot inflatable tube. You climb up the floating tower and jump onto the tube. Your friend flies up, then plummets down.
We have no excuse whatsoever for this violent, hilarious, satisfying and ultimately senseless activity. Nobody needs to throw axes, there are no life lessons to be learned here. Axe throwing is not a skill that will serve you well later in life and the world will not be a better place for it.
Adrenalin Quarry used to be called Clicker Quarry (locals still call it that). From 1932, when it was first worked for Blue Elvin rock, to 1969, when the last drill went silent, it was a hugely important business providing much-needed employment and a vital boost to South-East Cornwall's economy.
For decades the quarry lay derelict until in 1986, it got its first hit of adrenalin when Clicker Trikes, now Kartworld, opened its doors to the public. In their free time, managers and staff would organise outdoor parties at another derelict quarry (they had a thing for them) – Goldiggings on Bodmin Moor – where barbecues, cliff jumping, swimming and abseiling were always on the menu.
One evening, just for a change, someone put up a zip wire that went straight into the lake below. Just a knot, a pulley and screwed-up eyes. It soon became the focal point for future meet-ups. A promise was made to build a real zip wire, one day – off the cliffs at Clicker.
20 years later, the first posts went in for what was then The UK's Longest Zip Wire which opened in Easter 2009, on the site of the old flooded quarry, while at the far end what was once a mound of hardcore was now a manicured grass arena for the UK's first solo hovercraft school. (We flew hovercraft for three great years, but stopped September 2010 due to limited space with new rides coming in).
